May You Be Healthy…Always

This month in our offices we are talking about lifelong health and wellness - from prenatal care to active living seniors.

With Mother’s Day, it is a good time to talk about pregnancy and chiropractic. One of our e-newsletter articles comments, “Many pregnant women have found that chiropractic adjustments provide relief from the increased low back pain brought on by pregnancy. Also, scientific studies have found that spinal manipulation carries no increased risk to the pregnant woman or her baby. Chiropractic's non-drug, non-surgical approach to back pain can be especially attractive to pregnant women who are trying to avoid over-the-counter and prescription drugs.”

We have seen several success stories with chiropractic helping labor and delivery as well as minimizing the discomforts of pregnancy. Here is a success story from one of our former team members, Lauren. “As a wife and mother of four young children, chiropractic has become a lifesaver for me, or should I say back saver. Needless to say lugging around babies, toddlers, and all the things that go with them can leave one’s neck, shoulders and back feeling less than desirable: and making for one grumpy mommy. There is NO way I could have made it through four pregnancies without my adjustments and massages. I have been blessed to have all of my children naturally and without any medical interference, and attribute part of that to chiropractic care!

Here is a success story from our massage therapist in our Sullivan office, Jennifer. “I had chiropractic and massage treatments for my fourth pregnancy. I did not have them for my first three. Let me tell you some differences I noticed. For one, I had no complications throughout my pregnancy. Even working with the public through flu season, I seemed to make it through just fine. I only had morning sickness twice compared to multiple times with my first three pregnancies. Thanks to the adjustments, massage and wobble chair exercises I was able to work on my feet almost to term for 8 hours a day with very little back pain or discomfort. I had no excessive weight gain, no swelling, no issues with appetite. But my biggest change was my child himself. All my other children were delivered two to three weeks prematurely, and struggled with some minor health issues, including one child who had to spend over a week in the NICU. However, this last child was born one day early, weighed over a pound more than my other children and had perfect APGARS from the start! No health problems. I was up and moving about easily within a few hours, even after having a minor surgery directly after his birth! Happy healthy momma, happy healthy pregnancy, happy healthy baby!”

Here is what one of our newest mom’s has to say. “I am currently 8 months pregnant and always look forward to my time here at WellnssFirst.  Every time I am here, any pains/aches are dealt with and I feel like a whole new person when I leave.  The women here are all very sweet and caring, so it feels like you are visiting family, not going to the doctor.  I love WellnessFirst!  I recommend WellnessFirst to all my friends and family!
