New Patient FAQ

Who can benefit from Chiropractic Care?

Examples of different patients who have had success in our clinics

  • newborn babies within hours of birth
  • patients injured at work or auto injuries
  • patients confined to wheel chairs or walkers
  • patients who are caregivers
  • patients with herniated discs
  • patients with spinal fractures (the fracture is not treated)
  • patients with previous successful and failed back surgeries

What will I experience during my New Patient Appointment?

When you come in to any one of our offices our receptionist will greet you with a friendly smile and walk you through any paperwork; remember to bring any insurance cards and a driver's license with you. Then, our doctor or chiropractic assistant will take a complete history and will do a thorough examination, where we evaluate the weaknesses in your body. Our doctor may recommend that you have x-rays taken in our office or at a partner facility and our staff will work with you to coordinate every step. Our doctors will use all of this information to design a treatment program just for you to help you function at your highest level.

When will I find out the results of my New Patient Exam?

On your second visit, our doctor or chiropractic assistant will go through a process that is called a Report of Findings, where we will tell you exactly what the doctor found and what treatments she recommends. Our staff will also coordinate your treatment plan with any insurance or payment options, so you will know exactly how to plan for optimum health. The goal with every treatment in our clinic is to make your body as healthy as it can be, no matter the condition.

What will my first adjustment be like?

Our doctors use a variety of techniques and therapies to work with the muscles and the bones. It may take a couple of visits before you feel comfortable with the new routine. After the adjustment itself, some people feel better, some feel achy or sore. Our doctor or chiropractic assistant should share more instructions after your adjustment. If at any time you have questions, please make sure that you ask one of our staff members or give us a call.

How will chiropractic help my symptoms get better?

Our chiropractic treatment will not directly "treat" any of your symptoms or diseases. Symptoms and disease occur when there is limited communication between the brain and the rest of the body. This limited communication can occur at the result of a misalignment of the spine, or subluxation. By removing this misalignment and the interference, your body will be able to heal itself. For example, a fibromyalgia patient would typically need management, not a cure. Current research shows routinely
scheduled massage therapy and possibly acupuncture provides the best relief, along with nutritional counseling. Another example would be a forty something with chronic neck pain and / or headaches. This person typically would get a relief protocol for symptoms but then would be offered a rehabilitation program (in clinic and at home) to strengthen the surrounding structures, changing a chronic condition to a stable one.

Will Insurance cover my treatment?

With today's environment, getting well and staying well is a good insurance policy in itself. However, our services are covered by most insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. Our doctors are in network with most insurances. We also offer very affordable monthly payment plans you AND your family. On your first visit, bring your insurance card and a photo id with you. Our trained staff will call your insurance company and discover the benefits available to you. After we go through our doctors recommendations we will develop a package just for you.
